My List of Routines and Products to Make You Feel Like That Girl
Tried and true recommendations to get out of a slump and feel your best.
My last post on a recent lymphatic drainage experience has had me thinking of all the little ways I take care of myself. Since the practitioner was impressed with my wellness routines and knowledge, I thought I’d follow up with a list of everything I do to feel good. I also recently wrote about the act of taking care of yourself as a luxury, and given the current state of affairs, a little focus on our own well-being is necessary for our nervous systems.
I believe in prioritizing wellness to prevent illness. To fuel our bodies and our creativity with nourishment. Everything is connected - skin is breaking out because your gut is imbalanced; gut imbalanced because of a tooth problem; brain fog because your cortisol is elevated; irritability because your hormones are off - listen to your body and find out what is going on to treat it accordingly. Slowing down and caring for yourself in an intentional way will set you on the path to healing in the ways you need - cutting the noise to hear what your body is telling you.
Let this list be a suggestive guide on resetting for the summer and prioritizing your well being. Try some new things, keep what resonates, and leave what doesn’t.
Welcome to my world of routines and recommendations that make me feel cared for, good in my body, and calm in my mind. (most everything is linked!)
Good Morning
Tongue scrape first thing when I get out of bed.
Brush with Boka nano-Hydroxyapatite toothpaste.
Drink warm water with lemon followed by 16 ounces of room temp water mixed with BodyBio E-Lyte electrolytes.
Take my morning supplements:
Make ~12 ounces pour-over coffee (in the summer I make this first thing in the morning to sit in the fridge while I finish my routine and then have an iced coffee - I prefer this to pouring over ice while hot. In the winter I make my coffee just before I am ready to sit down with it for a hot coffee). I grind my own beans - 20g of beans to 320g of water, and mix ceylon cinnamon into the coffee grounds before starting the pour. Add a splash of almond milk and it is perfection!
Morning journaling with this notebook and these pens.
Pvolve workout or yoga sequence (self-taught, I’m certified).
Morning Skincare routine:
Ice entire face with an ice cube for a minute - constantly moving it around
Dieux Skin Deliverance Serum (holy grail)
Innisfree Bija Salicylic Spot Serum as needed
Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen (holy grail) - my skin leans oily so I skip moisturizer during the day and just use a hydrating sunscreen
Good Afternoon
Plant-forward lunch with lots of fiber (I am a plant-based pescatarian, but generally just believe in eating in a balanced way prioritizing fiber and protein).
Afternoon supplements:
Everything in this kit, except the myoinositol which I take in the evening (I have PCOS so prioritizing hormone support is important to me!)
A hormone balancing multivitamin
Adrenal support vitamins and herbs to support healthy cortisol levels
Saw Palmetto vitamins and herbs to support healthy androgen levels
Omega Plus for brain and heart health, immune and cellular support
Iron diluted in water (I have an iron deficiency)
Snack - usually fruit. I’ve been loving mandarin oranges and blackberries lately.
20 minute walk outside. Move your body and give your brain a break. Make space for creative flow by ditching the screens and getting into nature.
Ginger tea - sliced ginger root boiled in water for 5 or so minutes, let steep for another 5 before pouring into mug. Add sliced lemon and a touch of honey.
Good Evening
Plant-forward dinner - listen to a podcast while I cook.
Evening supplements:
Just the Myoinositol Plus from this kit - supports a regular menstrual cycle
Evening oral-care routine right after dinner - no eating close to bedtime!
White strip - these do not leave my teeth feeling sensitive at all and they WORK!
Higher Dose sauna blanket 2-3x a week.
Pre-shower:
Scalp & hair treatment on wash days (3x a week) for at least 20 minutes if not longer (usually put it on before hopping into the sauna or making dinner).
Dieux Ethereal Cleansing Oil or DHC Deep Cleansing Oil on dry skin to remove makeup/sunscreen
Shower (a full-ish routine):
Emulsify facial oil cleanser with water and rinse
First shampoo - Act + Acre Stem Cell Shampoo - let it sit for a min
Second shampoo - a bond repair - let it sit while you exfoliate
Exfoliate 2-3x a week with an exfoliating mitt
Conditioner or conditioning treatment (clip hair up with conditioner for the rest of the shower)
Facial cleanser - Dieux or Vanicream - let this sit on my face while I wash my body
Flamingo shaving cream as needed
Post-Shower:
Body oil on damp skin
Virtue Healing Oil on mostly dried hair
Evening Skincare:
Red light mask on clean, dry skin - I put on a guided meditation and meditate while using the mask. I also use it on my neck, chest, head!
Thayers toner - let it dry down
Sofie Pavitt Mandelic Clearing Serum - let it dry down for 5 min
Good Night
Put a dab of moisturizer on your lips and seal it with aquaphor.
Secure hair in a silk bonnet to protect it from breakage while you sleep, and sleep on a silk pillow case!
Phone plugged in across the room, not next to your bed!
Hatch alarm - the best.
Oura Ring - tracks my sleep, activity, cycle, and other health markers. I’ve had mine for 3 years and I love it.
Honorable mentions for a life focused on being well:
Getting a comprehensive blood panel via Function Health was a lot more helpful to me than doctors have been in the past.
Acupuncture - this was an integral part of my healing journey when managing PCOS, digestive issues, chronic stress, and more. It is such a wonderful healing modality.

Glossier Balm Dotcom Lip Balm - the original unscented, it’s the BEST.

Astrology is fun and really hits when you dig into it! Not the end all be all, but an interesting guide to apply.
Believing the universe, god, whatever you want to call it, has your back if you let it. Take care of yourself, do good, and good will come to you.
There you have it! My staples for living with a focus on my overall health. This is not an exhaustive list, but I tried to think of most everything. Questions or looking for a specific kind of product rec? Let’s chat about it in the comments!
Something I am loving and something I am hating this week:
Loving
Gourmet popsicles. Recently in the Boston Seaport pop-up shops, The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops has arrived and I am JAZZED. What is more refreshing on a hot summer day than a fun popsicle flavor like Mango Mojito or Ginger Plum? They even have boozy options - there is a mezcal variation I MUST try next.
Hating:
Other than the current administration on a mission to ruin our lives, I am really hating Apple Watches. They’re ugly, I don’t care what band you’ve got on it. They ruin your outfits. They’re giving spy. Hate em.

Interesting, I hadn't heard of tongue scrapping at night (only in the am). Have you tried coconut oil pulling or mouth taping? Recently discovered both and became a big advocate .
This is amazing.
